Okoronkwo Victor Chidowem (born 1 February, 1996), popularly known as Kodedbanq is a rapper, singer, songwriter and actor from Arochukwu, Abia state Nigeria. He debuted his official song “Turn” on the 17th of July, 2020, and it made it into Buzz FM’s Top 10 weekly music chart beating a lot of other prominent artists in the game before him, for weeks.
Early Life:
Kodedbanq started his primary education in Lagos state as he was born and raised there but completed his secondary education in Aba, Abia state as his dad became a victim of a fire outbreak which led to the loss of their Sachet water and wine production company in 2010.
After his secondary education, Kodedbanq joined the Nigerian Vigilante as a means of supporting his family while also building himself physically and mentally, it was a harsh experience that paid off, as he was able to do more during his sleepless nights of securing his neighborhood and help his family during the day.
He has been a lover of music while growing up and had been featured as a guest artist on some of his friends songs, but he officially debuted his own track “Turn”, in the year 2020. It was released by Marapova Music.
According to Kodedbanq, he’s biggest fans and supporters has always been his family (specifically, his mom an dad), as they love the kind of music he does, prays for him and keeps encouraging him.
He’s style of music is not tied down to Afrobeats as he endeavors to try out new sounds and feelings on each new song he releases.
Career:
Kodedbanq released his debut single, “Turn” produced by award winning Nigerian producer, Yuzy Beatz in July 2020, and it aired on Aba’s no. 1 music radio station, Buzz Fm and entered their weekly Top 10 Charts, staying there for weeks. He went on to also release the visuals of the song as directed by Klever Bee.
On 15th October of the same year, Kodedbanq also released his 2nd song, titled “99 Girls”.
He is currently working on his debut project and promotional album, “God Is The Greatest”, an Extended Play, it is expected to be released before this year 2021 runs out.
Kodedbanq is an unsigned and independent artist open to recording deals, he’s currently being managed by Marapova Music.
